Michigan Communities for Local Control (MCLC) is a non-profit organization that seeks to preserve the voice of our communities by educating and providing a platform for parents, educators, and elected officials to communicate with their Lansing leaders regarding policy that directly affects our schools and communities.  We believe policy making should be left at the local level when-ever possible

Today, MCLC is opposing SB 624, which would mandate schools of choice on every school district in the State of Michigan.  Currently, 98% of school districts in Michigan already participate in Choice to some degree based on financial responsibility and community input.  Bi-partisan opposition to SB  624, led by MCLC's lobbying and data, has resulted in the current tabling of this legislation.

Michigan School districts and communities are aligning themselves with Michigan Communities for Local Control. Local residents should rely on their capable, elected officials to create policy that directly impacts their schools and communities.
